Our gr.8 student (ICM Middle School Program), Dayin Shakiya Afdhal (13 y.o), which art work title is "Eyes for the Oceans" had been selected as one of 16 finalists worldwide in the event of Science Without Borders (SWB) Challenge 2018



“Eyes of the Ocean”

 

Alhamdulillah Sekolah Insan Cendekia Madani has got one good news. Our gr.8 student (ICM Middle School Program), Dayin Shakiya Afdhal (13 y.o), which art work title is "Eyes for the Oceans" had been selected as one of 16 finalists worldwide in the event of Science Without Borders (SWB) Challenge 2018. It is an event that is organized by Khaleed bin Sulthan Living Oceans Foundation, an NGO locatedin Annapolis USA. It focuses on conservation issues and oceanic restoration. 

It is an annual competition that is held since 2014. This year's competition is the 5th, and was initially started by having more than 600 participants across the globe. Dayin had managed her way so far to be one of the 16 finalists in the Middle School level. The finalists come from USA, Russia, Canada, Ukraina, China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Malaysia, and Indonesia. 

The winner of the competition: 1st, 2nd and 3rd, shall be announced next week. The winning art work shall be displayed as posters in the event of International Year of the Reef (IYOR) 2018 Conference. 

Being one of the finalists had already made us so proud of you Dayin. What a great work you did. Hopefully you still can make it to be one of the champion. Our prayers be with you, InsyaAllah.
